The White Cube Gallery
The Gallery itself is minimalistic, a technique I love. The paintings are separated and balanced with colour to each individual space on the wall.

This artwork, Bud by Gary Hume is an interesting piece. I instantly recognized it is a flower bud regardless the lack of detail. It is minimalistic and simple, and i like that. Its stand alone observation is curious to me. Is there another meaning behind the singled out bud standing alone. To me it asks to be questioned. it colour is the plainest of woods beech. even though it is by itself its still apealing to hold. it has no splinters it has been sanded down for smoothness.

Gary Hume, Pink RoseThis artwork, Pink Rose also by Gary Hume has an interesting effect used, almost like the artist has used string to create the black parts of this piece, whilst the pale pink, yellow and blue stand abruptly out because of the black paint. Again by Gary Hume. this singled out rose stands in the midst of a messy environment where the black lines have no structure no colour no meaning other than an intricate web designed to hold you up or tangle the rose in the black. The rose again stands alone as the only one with a soft pink and trickling down the colours variate to yellow, blue, and a harsher pink tone. The symbolic meaning could be the beginning. to what i don't know.

This artwork, Horizon by Gary Hume, I cant quite see a horizon but maybe it metaphorical meaning the beginning. The pink and green part looks as though it is ascending from the bottom making its way to the top. The green could be a nucleus, the brain of the image, the pink does look similar to a fish. i dont really have to say, other than its trying to ascend
